LIGHTING FOR AN INTERVIEW

CROSSED KEY LIGHTING

Crossed key lighting is common for two headed interviews. Here each person's back light  also serves as the key light on the other person. The key lighting is on the far side of the face and fill light is provided by a soft light in the front.

Normally an interview like this would be shot with a camera in close to mid shot on each of the subjects. A third camera could be set up for a two shot, this is good for establishing shots and as a safety shot.

This lighting plan is for people only. For advice on lighting backgrounds go to Environmental Lighting.
